Accessing Housing and Support from LEAP
From the day of moving into LEAP accommodation, our dedicated staff will offer the guidance and support needed to help residents settle in. This will include an induction and assessment of the person’s unique circumstances, as well as together setting goals, building a plan of action and identifying opportunities that lead to the day they move on to independent living with confidence.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Are you homeless, in need of accessing housing and support to sustain a tenancy?
- Are you aged 18 plus?
- Are you able to live independently without supervision?
- Are you willing to work positively with housing staff and maintain regular contact throughout your stay at LEAP?
- Are you willing to share full details of any known offending history, mental illness, substance misuse or disability to enable a fair assessment at interview stage?
How To Apply
If you or someone you know needs help accessing housing and support from LEAP and meets the criteria above, please complete our Application Form. We welcome self-referrals as well as referral through partner agencies.
LEAP Housing has a range of accommodation and you will be assessed for suitability against this range and according to vacancies. Some of our accommodation is shared housing but we do also have some self-contained accommodation for individuals as well as properties suitable for small families.
What happens next?
We will respond to the referral within 2 days of receipt and where it meets all criteria, an interview will be arranged.
The interview will be planned no later than 2 weeks after the initial referral. At the interview, we will give further information about the process. There is no need to worry about this and you do not need to prepare anything for it. We want you to feel comfortable, but we also need you to be honest. References and background checks will be taken up prior to a decision being made. Where no immediate vacancies exist, your name will be placed on a waiting list.
Our trained staff will ensure a good match and you will be able to view the accommodation prior to move in.
