Charity Quiz Night | Helping Fight Homelessness LEAP Housing

Introduction

At LEAP Housing, our mission is to prevent homelessness and promote independent living. We offer a range of services to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness, including a range of temporary housing options, assistance with finding and maintaining employment, support with budgeting and financial management, and practical support for those living in their own homes. Our goal is to provide a holistic approach to supporting individuals and helping them achieve independence and maintain permanent housing. We recently held our Charity Quiz to help us achieve these goals.

We were delighted to host a charity quiz night on Saturday, March 4th, to raise funds for our cause. The event was a resounding success, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and supported the evening.

The Success of the Event

We were thrilled to have 18 teams take part in our quiz, and with the help of all those who attended, we managed to raise an incredible £870 for LEAP. The event was packed with fun activities and lots of opportunities to win exciting prizes. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal of fish and chips from the fish and chip van and brought their own drinks to the event. To kick things off, we started with an icebreaker game of heads and tails, where guests had to guess the outcome of a coin toss. We also passed round scratch cards for everyone to guess different themes, with a chance to win fantastic prizes.

The main event was a 6-round Quiz, covering topics such as geography, sport, TV and film, alcohol, history, music, and a riddle round. Everyone got into the spirit of the competition, with enthusiastic participation and lots of laughter throughout the evening. The winners of the quiz generously donated their cash prizes back to LEAP, which was a heart-warming gesture that truly embodies the spirit of our community. First and second prize were cash prizes and certificates, while the last-place loser received the coveted wooden spoon prize. As guests mingled and enjoyed the evening, we also had chocolates on the tables, as well as links to our social media and Google review pages, encouraging people to stay connected with us and support our cause. The raffle was another successful aspect of our event, with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, including a beautifully decorated fruit cake, which was auctioned off and raised an additional £20. We would like to thank the winner for donating the cake back to be auctioned off and everyone who contributed to the raffle prizes.

Overall, The Quiz Night was a memorable evening filled with fun, laughter, and generosity. We are grateful to everyone who supported us and helped make it such a success. Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved and make a difference in our community with LEAP!
