“I was kicked out of the house & lost my job as a Care Assistant. It was hard losing both my home and my job at the same time. I ended up sofa surfing at my sisters for 2-3 months. During that time, I had approached the Council to ask about Housing Support. They referred me to LEAP.”

“Before officially moving in, I remember being greeted by Patricia who showed me around accommodation at Homer House. It was not long before I moved in. It was so nice to have a room with a kitchenette and my own shower. The room was much larger than my bedroom at home and it was great to not have to share a bathroom.”

“I did have a few sleepless nights when I first moved in as it felt very strange, however staff at LEAP were all very supportive and reassuring. I was supported by LEAP to go back to college, where the Housing Officer helped me access further support that I would not have known about. Lincoln College paid for transport and helped by postponing exams when I needed time to address my accommodation issues. I now study Accountancy and Business, which I hope this will land me a more stable job in the near future.”

“I know I can ask the Housing Officers for support at any time, whether I need advice on benefits, have concerns about employment or have questions about how to look after my accommodation.”
