Heidi, alongside her son, is set to take on the ambitious 84.5-mile trek along Hadrian’s Wall, walking from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend in just six days.
Their journey will span the width of England, from the West Coast to the East Coast, following the path of the iconic Roman frontier, with the location of accommodation taken into account they are likely walk more than 100 miles in total. Each day, they’ll cover over 14 miles on foot, resting at night in bunkhouses and shepherd’s huts along the route. With available accommodation proving challenging to find, they may even end up camping for a night or two!
Heidi is so dedicated to LEAP that she is spending some of her annual leave raising money for a cause she has been proud to be involved with for almost 25 years. With the housing crisis and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, demand for LEAP’s services is growing rapidly – making their fundraising effort all the more vital.
