Christmas is often described as a time for giving — and today that spirit shone brighter than ever.
We were delighted to welcome Jude Wilkinson and her family to our Gainsborough Hub, where they arrived with 80 bags filled with Christmas presents for every one of our residents across Lincoln and Gainsborough.
Jude, who sits on our Fundraising Committee, inspired her mother Celia and her niece to take on LEAP’s Christmas Mission — a commitment to ensure that every person in our services receives a thoughtful gift this festive season. Together, this wonderful grandmother-and-granddaughter team raised £400 from friends and family, carefully selected several presents for each resident.
Celia’s granddaughter, who was the driving force behind the initiative, shared:
“I don’t want any recognition for doing this. I just wanted to help because I’ve been there myself, and I’ve had so much support from others — the community where I live has really helped me.”
Celia has long been a generous supporter of LEAP, often providing hampers for our tenants — a kindness that has made a real difference year after year.
We are incredibly grateful to Celia and her granddaughter for their generosity.
