Sincil Bank Community Art Trail Launches!

LEAP’s Sincil Bank Community Art Trail officially launched on the 14th September with special guests Karen Lee MP, Cllr Helena Mair and those who were involved with the project!

The project idea came about in October last year and focused on the redesign and revitalisation of a number of green Media Boxes in the Sincil Bank Area. The aim was to give some colour and show that regeneration of the area is beginning to happen.

In partnership with the City of Lincoln Council, Sincil Bank Community Partnership and Virgin Media; the Community Chest funded project took place throughout July and August, with 28 boxes painted overall. Designs came from a number of community artists, residents of the area, local schools and LEAP residents.

The project has been very well received and many took to social media to express their admiration for the boxes. Comments included; ‘Wonderful this area so needs lifting up, well done to all concerned’ and ‘Well done all you volunteers! You're going to make a real difference to children's lives!’ It is clear to see how well received the project has been. The trail map will give the opportunity to find hidden ‘apps’ on the boxes and will include information about the designs and artists.

Trail maps will be available from a variety of locations around Sincil Bank and online. Further information about the project and the trail can be obtained by contacting info@leap.uk.com.
