To mark the 21st Anniversary of this local charity, LEAP held an Afternoon Tea party at the Old Palace Lincoln on October 12th 2015.
Attended by many agencies and organisations who actively support the charity, the event was a huge success. Chief Executive, Heidi Walton, stated that “it was a fine way to mark the occasion, the venue was lovely and the food superb”. To add humour to the event, a small team quiz was held entitled “Sweets and Treats” that evidenced everyone’s knowledge of the sweet and chocolate market.
The event also marked staff achievement with two awards presented. The first award for “Working in Partnership” went to Jen Roberts. She was voted for this award by her colleagues because of her good lines of communication with outside agencies which means she is able to deliver a more rounded and joined up service to the young people she works with. The second award for “Believing in and Respecting Young people” went to Louise Jardine. Lou has been with LEAP as a Training, Activities and Volunteer Coordinator since April of this year and she has quickly built up a good relationship with the young people she works with. A big well done to both Jen and Lou on their awards.
Funds raised on the day reached a total of £340. Heidi went on to say “a big thank you for all the generous donations on the day which will be used to support client activities and welcome packs”; items not funded through our contracts which make a huge deference to the lives of the young people we support”.
Thanks also go to Lincolnshire Cooperative for the donation of a hamper which was raffled on the day.
