Barlow House - Direct Access Centre

Barlow House is a newly refurbished assessment centre for 16-19 year olds in Lincoln, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. It is in the south of the City, approximately a 25 minutes walk from the town centre.
The assessment centre comprises of 5 self-contained units, each one featuring a fully equipped kitchenette, en-suite shower room and furnished lounge / bed area. There is also an office which staff visit on a regular daily basis to ensure clients are okay, however clients are also welcome at the main LEAP office and drop-in centre on Tentercroft Street. Out of hours, clients have access to LEAP's 24 hour On-Call facility to deal with any emergencies
Clients are placed in Barlow House on a 4 week licence, meaning that typically they can only stay in this accommodation for up to 4 weeks, however this can be longer if necessary.

Whilst staying in Barlow House a Support Worker will work closely with the client to assess their needs and suitability for accommodation in LEAP Supported Housing. If this is deemed unsuitable referrals to other specialist housing services will be made and the client will be offered assistance with this, for example arranging a look around, taking the client to interview, helping with a move.
