Lincolnshire Employment Accommodation Project (LEAP) gives equal consideration to all applications received. Our policy is to provide fair and equal treatment to all applicants and aim to ensure no unfair discrimination against anyone in the referral process.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept all referrals due to the type of accommodation we provide and the degree of support we are able to offer. It is necessary, therefore, to assess each applicant for suitability.
Please read the referral criteria before making a referral. If you have any queries regarding this procedure please contact a member of staff at LEAP.
Referral Procedure
Young people can access LEAP services in a number of ways
- Referral by an agency – by post, fax or on-line
- Self referral – in person or on-line
- Application forms must be completed in full providing as must information as possible.
- Contact the LEAP Project to arrange an interview. All forms must be received prior to an interview.
- Unless the applicant is street homeless, all applications will be treated on a “first come, first served” basis and we will attempt to interview all referrals within two weeks from receipt of a fully completed application form.
- If an applicant is “street homeless” we will attempt to arrange an interview outside our usual interview schedule and at our earliest convenience wherever possible.
- We aim to interview all referrals to our emergency flat within 24 hours and references permitting admit successful applicants on the day of interview.
- A decision on all referrals is made as soon as possible but it must be appreciated that this process can take several days where further information needs to be obtained.
- LEAP staff will contact applicant and agencies notifying them of decisions made, directly or in writing.
- Unsuccessful applicants will receive a reason for rejection.
- Occasionally we may have no suitable vacancies. In these circumstances, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
